ovHERcoming obstacles Guest Panel

It’s ovHERcoming obstacles time again! nJoy the Rush is gearing up for their second annual ovHERcoming obstacles! This event is catered to empower, motivate, and educate young women between the 7th-12th grade and help them overcome different obstacles that they face today.

This event was created to connect girls to local successful women and teach them important life skills. Today’s younger generation constantly fights battles with themselves, peers, social media, and sometimes family. Our goal is to let each girl know that even though she may feel alone during these times, she’s not! It’s important for us to show the girls that we’ve all experienced obstacles, but we didn’t let that stop our growth.

We will kick-off the event with a mix and mingle session to teach the girls the importance of networking and building relationships. This session will introduce the girls to women from different careers paths. ovHERcoming obstacles will also focus on helping young girls with their finances, as well as learning new etiquette tips that will keep you sharp in the real world during our breakout sessions. Before the girls venture off to the different breakout sessions, we will have a guest panel of 5 intelligent and successful women for the girls to open up to and ask questions. This group was chosen because they’ve overcome many obstacles to get to where they are now in life. These women have no problem sharing their story and we’re truly grateful to have them on our panel.

This portion of the event will be hosted by Roxie, member of the 3 Live Crew on 102 Jamz.
